Renowned Violinist Yehudi Menuhin, who as a sixteen year old had recorded Elgar's Violin Concerto with the composer commissioned Donald to write four arrangements of Elgar works for the strings of the English Chamber Orchestra for an American tour. That was the genesis of a continuing series of Elgar/Fraser arrangements and orchestrations for cellist Raphael Wallfisch, the English Symphony Orchestra and many other international ensembles and artists.
